Keep Calm and Carry On Wedding Invitations – Below is the latest set of Keep Calm and Carry On Wedding Invitations I have produced. These ones like the previous ones I have designed feature the text Keep Calm its only a Wedding Invite in place of the usual text featured on these posters that reads Keep Calm and Carry On which is has had a very popular resurgence of late appearing everywhere in art and media from everything to tea cups to t-shirts, greeting cards, stickers, mouse mats, phone covers and much much more.
With so much Keep Calm and Carry on paraphernalia out there it is only natural that it would make its way into weddings and wedding stationery. The invitations you see here are made to look like the text has been painted on an old wooden fence giving it a rustic and vintage feel.
Classic Book Cover Wedding Invites – Its been a busy year so I havent had much time to post much on here, but here is a few photos of some recent classic book cover themed wedding invitations. Still a very popular choice for soon to be married couples I have designed book cover themed wedding invites for couple all over the world and shipped them to Australia, USA, Europe, Hong Kong and many more far off places.
Festival Wedding Invitations – Below is a new set of festival ticket wedding invitations I have recently designed for a couples wedding. Following the same format as before the soon to be married couple wanted the ticket style invitations with the tear off ticket stub which doubles as the RSVP stub so guests can tear this off and send it back to the couple. These ones are one of a new set of festival wedding designs I am working on at the moment with more to come. There is alot of festival wedding ideas around at the moment and these concert ticket wedding invites are proving very popular with festival brides to be. There are many different music festival elements that couples can have throughout their wedding and especially their wedding stationery. Have a look at the photos below and if you are interested in festival wedding stationery, festival wedding invitations or these particular festival ticket wedding invitations then please get in touch…
Festival Wedding Invites – 2013 is well underway and here is the first set of festival themed wedding invites I have produced this year. These festival wedding invites are in a festival ticket style like some of the ones I produced last year and this is the first of many I am working on at the moment. These concert ticket style wedding invitations are for a couple who I previously designed festival themed save the date cards for late last year and this WEDFEST 2013 theme is now carried through to their wedding invitations. The couple loved the idea of the festival ticket wedding invitations idea and after I had worked on the save the date cards the artwork lent itself perfectly to these ticket designs.
The invitations are split into two, one set for day guests and a further set of invitations for evening only guests, or after party guests as the tickets say. These invitations turned out amazing and look even better in real life. The ticket stub doubles as the RSVP card so the guests can tear it off easily as the edge is perforated and then simply send back the RSVP via the details provided.
For the wedding day invitation I used the images of grass, sky and trees that you might see on a regular festival poster and then for the evening invitations or after party invites I used imagery of a festival crowd and bright pinks and yellows which gives the feel of a party atmosphere.
Like I said these festival wedding invites are the first that I have worked on this year and as festival theme weddings have become more and more popular I will be doing many, many more of these this year… Keep an eye on my blog in the coming days and weeks to see some of the new designs I have created for festival weddings in 2013!

Cinema Poster Wedding Seating Plan - Happy New Year Everyone! where did 2012 go? It will be missed!! However onwards with 2013 we must go! But before we kick straight into the new year here is a wedding table plan I designed for a couple who got married over Christmas. The seating plan is based on a Cinema poster as they wanted a Movie themed wedding. This one turned out pretty cool, it has the cinema in the background with the couples names on the cinema screen and then has a lost of actors who are starring in the ‘made up’ movie, these actors and actresses are the table names for the wedding. Underneath each of the actor and actresses names is the list of guests that will be sitting at that table. I am looking forward to working on lots of new wedding table plan designs this year who knows what is around the corner!!
Festival Wedding Table Plan – This festival wedding table plan is the final part of wedding stationery I have designed for a couple of festival lovers from London called Kelly & Brian. You will have seen previous posts on this blog of some of the other wedding stationery that I designed for these guys including festival ticket style wedding invitations and also festival style wedding lanyard. This wedding has been a delight to work on and all the stationery produced has been really fun to design and really interesting and I myself have got a massive response from other people interested in festival themed wedding stationery. So to wrap up this part of the wedding stationery the Festival Wedding Table Plan below follows the previously designed stationery and is in the winter wedfest festival theme, with all of the wedding tables named after Kelly and Brian’s favourite festival names… below you can also see the table cards that I designed and printed for the wedding tables which have the same winter wedfest theme and the name and logo’s of each of the festivals the tables are named after… all in all this wedding is set to rock if the stationery is anything to go by!! cant wait to see the pictures! good luck to Kelly & Brian.
This wedding table plan is for a couple who got married… today as it goes… they wanted a festival style table plan but with a more elegant look and wanted it to tie in with their colour scheme of black and pink. The result can be seen below.. I tried using some elegant and classy typefaces coupled with a vintage rustic background to combine the feel of a vintage festival poster. I think it turned our really cool, it looked really classy before adding the rustic effect but that gave it alot of character and achieved the result I was looking for. The couple named their tables after their favourite bands and these lists acted as the festival bands line up on the poster… for more wedding table plan ideasclick here or to get in touch about getting a wedding seating plan designed please click here..
Another set of retro penguin books wedding invitations… this time for a couple a bit farther afield – The Netherlands. The penguin books wedding invites have been hugely popular in the past year and I have started getting requests from all over the world with this set of red ones being the latest. I have already provided these wedding invites for customers in Australia, USA, France and many other other destinations as book lovers around the world want to showcase their love of books on their wedding day. To see more examples of penguin books wedding invitationsclick here and here… if you are interested in these or other wedding stationery please click here to get in touch…
Below is another set of Polaroid Wedding Thank You Cards I created for a couple of newly weds called Toni & Justin. These polaroid photo style wedding thank you cards are designed to look like a vintage or retro polaroid photo at the front and then on the back they are a postcard so you can write your message and address etc for sending… for more examples of wedding thank you cards please click here or get in touch if you have something in mind you would like designed for your wedding thank you cards or wedding stationery in general.
This is a wedding menu I designed a few months ago and totally forgot about until someone inquired about something similar. The wedding was in Scotland and I had previously created a Scottish themed wedding table plan for the couple and then they wanted their wedding dinner menus to have a quirky design also, so they came up with the idea of a Scottish walking trail. after some research I discovered the west highland way trail which covers a large part of the country side including popular spots such as Loch Lomond, Ben Nevis, Fort William and other parts of the Scottish Highlands from Milngavie just north of Glasgow to Fort William. So anyway I used this route as the layout for the days events including dinner, drinks, dancing, and other parts of the wedding… It turned out pretty cool as you can see below…
If you want something similar designed or you are having a themed wedding please click here get in touch and see what we can do for you….
This current set of wedding stationery that I have been working on for Kelly & Brian has been a dream. The 2 soon to be newly weds have went all out for their festival themed wedding. As I mentioned on previous posts the guys were originally meant to get married in the summer which would have been WEDFEST, but they had to put the wedding back to winter and so Winter Wedfest is the theme. On previous posts I showed examples of the festival ticket wedding invitations I designed for them and I also am working on a festival themed wedding table plan and table cards as well as some other bits and pieces but this is my favourite part of the whole thing…
They asked me to create wedding festival lanyards that the guests would be given on the day of the wedding with all the information of the wedding on it just like you would get at a real festival. Included on the festival wedding programme lanyards are the running times of the day, dinner times, band and music times, menus for dinner and evening food, a venue map to show people where everything is and other fun stuff.
These wedding festival lanyards turned out amazing and will look fantastic on the day of the wedding especially when everyone is wearing them and dancing around at night, it will really add to the festival theme of the wedding. Check out the photos below which I took on a rare sunny moment these days as its about -1 degrees outside at the moment, i laid them down in the grass and they wouldn’t look out of place at any festival! if you would like to enquire about something similar for your wedding please click here to get in touch…
The Penguin Books Wedding Invitations I have been producing over the past year or so are still as popular as ever. People go for all sorts of colours and finishes for their wedding invitations but the classic orange penguin books still is the most popular. This one below titled ‘All you need is Love’ is a perfect example of the bookish look that be achieved by the penguin books wedding invites. This one has been finished with some vintage staining to give it the aged and worn look that an old retro book may have after sitting about for 50 years.
These invites look great and are really brighten up where ever they are placed when on display. All these invites can be totally customised to suit your wedding, titles and themes.. if you are interested in these vintage orange penguin books wedding invitationsplease get in touch….
Festival save the date cards – These WEDFEST festival themed save the date wedding cards are a set I designed for a couple of festival lovers called Jessica & Paul. Jessica got in touch with me after seeing some of my previous festival themed wedding stationery and in particular the festival ticket wedding invitations I had created.
Looking for something similar Jessica gave me a run down of what kind of thing she wanted and I set to work… the first part of her festival themed wedding stationery is the festival save the date cards. I designed these cards to look like flyers announcing the initial wedding details, much like you might see when a music festival announce its dates and main headliner months before the rest of the line up is announced. For these save the date cards I designed them in a really grungey style, which will be carried out through the rest of the stationery using the WEDFEST 2013 logo throughout… I have already designed the invites which are done like festival tickets and they look even better than the save the date cards but for now this is all I can show you… stay tuned for more awesome festival themed wedding stationery…
Since the Titanic Building in Belfast opened earlier this year it has fast become Belfast and Northern Ireland’s number 1 tourist attraction. The love and interest of the Titanic is worldwide and the opening of the worlds number 1 Titanic Museum in Belfast is set to bring in millions of visitors per year to the titanic building at Titanic Quarter in Belfast’s docks. The titanic centre is built right where the actual titanic itself was built so it is only fitting that this is where the museum for the worlds most famous ship calls home.
The building itself was built to replicate the ships prow’s, though some say it also looks like the iceberg that sank the famed ocean liner. Either way inside the building they have many galleries explaining the ships history and on the top floor of the museum is Belfast’s largest conference and reception centre where they replicated the ships famous staircase which was heavily featured in the movie ‘Titanic’ by James Cameron.
One of the other main interests of this building is the conferencing and banqueting suites also known as The Titanic Suites. This brings me around to what we are talking about today.
Since the Titanic Suites have opened they have became a popular destination for couples to host their wedding receptions.
The below invitation is a Titanic themed wedding invitation for a wedding reception to be held at the famous Titanic Suite – Main Hall at the Titanic Building in Belfast. Although the ship itself had a bad end its not a great theme for a wedding invite but because of the building where the wedding reception is to be held it lends itself beautifully, so the invite was based on the original posters advertising the Titanic back in 1912. I included at the top of the invitation ‘White Star Line’ in much the same way it was issued on the original posters and then finished the invitation design with some vintage colouring and old worn paper effects, including some folded lines and creases in the paper to make it feel like someone just folded up the flyer and put it in their pocket. Also included is the cities most famed for the titanic including Belfast, Southampton and New York, with Bangor in Northern Ireland included as it is where the couple who are getting married are from. Although the titanic had a bad end its legacy will last forever and the Titanic Building is a fabulous place to hold a wedding reception and why not have your own titanic themed wedding invitation.
Below is a set of wedding thank you cards I created for a couple from Donegal in Ireland, who got married earlier in the year. The couple Cliona & Philip requested that their cards be black and white only, no colour and sent me on superb black and white photos to use on their personalised wedding thank you cards. They printed out beautifully as you can see below and look really classy and elegant. I finished of the design by adding a polaroid picture of the couple with their little boy on the back of the cards. Great photos and this made for great thank you cards. If you are interested in getting some personalised wedding thank you cards designed and printed please click here…
I have designed alot of wedding invitations based on book cover themes and especially penguin books classics covers, this next design follows that same format but the couple wanted the wedding invite to look and feel even more like an actual book. The only way to do this is obviously add some pages to the book and thats what I did. I took the information that on other invitation packs may appear as separate cards and put it all on to one book design.
So the first page is the front cover as normal, once you open the book invitation there then is an inlay page, on the left is a poem and then again on the first right hand page is the cover title again, much like you would see in an actual book. Once this next page is opened you are presented with the actual wedding invitation information. Flick on to the next page and there is more information about the wedding including maps and directions etc.
This book invitation looks really cool, the inside pages were all printed to look like an old aged book and have that vintage feel to it.Although it only has a couple of inside pages it really gives of the look and feel of a real book! Like the look of it? want it? contact me…
Below is a set of save the date postcards I created for a couple called James and Caroline. The 2 of them are originally from Dublin and both moved to Australia a few years ago where they then met each other and discovered they were from the same place back in Dublin. On a trip to New York they got engaged and are coming back to Ireland to get married. So they wanted to reflect all their trekking around the world in their wedding stationery. I suggested the idea of a map of the world and highlight the key areas of their relationship, where they are from, where they met, where they got engaged etc.. they liked this idea and asked could I make it look like a vintage style postcard… The results for the save the date card are below…
Following on from the festival ticket wedding invitations I recently designed this is a set of festival themed wedding invitations designed in the style of a festival concert poster. Drawing inspiration from some of the festival style table plans I have worked on this couple Rikki & Simon wanted their wedding day plans laid out in a festival line up format. Using the term Wedfest 2013 as the name of the event the headline acts on the poster / invitation are the bride and groom and then the days events are broken down into the support slots. This is a really fun wedding stationery, the colours are really vibrant and really sets the wedding up to be a really fun day.
For the evening invitations I kept the same design but with some slight changes. The evening invites have a strap line of THE AFTER PARTY which clearly makes a distinction between the day invites and the evening invites, plus as its aimed at the evening guests I have changed the colours to give more of a night time twilight feel to the invitation. Both of these invites printed really beautifully and were finished off with a gloss lamination to really make them look fantastic.
Rikki & Simon were so delighted with the design of the wedding invites that they wanted it printed up as an A1 poster which they could hang in their house. You can see the poster in the background of the pictires below and it will certainly brighten up whatever room they choose to hang it in.

Following on from the range of penguin books wedding invitations I have worked on below is some penguin books wedding save the date cards that couples have ordered. These are great if you are having a book themed wedding or just in general fancy something a bit different… For more info on these or my penguin book wedding invites please click here to get in contact.
I always say in these posts that this is my favourite yet (so I have a lot of favourites clearly) but this festival ticket style wedding invitation is definitely one of my favourites I have done, or even seen to date. This wedding invitation was designed for a couple of festival lovers called Brian and Kelly. Originally Brian and Kelly were supposed to get married in the summer but had to put their wedding back to winter so when they mentioned the idea of a festival ticket as their wedding invitation the first thing I thought was that summery festival imagery for a winter wedding wont really work, so with a little bit of magic ( and some snowflakes ) Winter Wedfest 2012 was born.
So how I came up with this marvel was simple… I took the inspiration from previous wedfest invitations I have worked on and I put the word winter in front of it! Genius I know! So anyway Winter Wedfest was the theme for the wedding and the wedding invites were designed to look like concert tickets, complete with a perforated tear off stub which doubles as the RSVP card so the guests can easily tear of the ticket stub and post it back to Kelly & Brian.
The front side of the festival tickets is designed up with the winter wedfest graphics and then the reverse is made to look like a printed ticket with all the information, times, dates, venues etc… These invites came out fantastically well and look amazing in your hand. For more information on these festival ticket wedding invitations or any type of wedding stationery please click here to get in touch.
Once a wedding is over usually the last thing for the newly married couple to do is send out wedding thank you cards. To most people this marks the end of a year (or more) of crazy organising, planning, meetings, fittings, ordering, buying, shopping, fighting, threatening to call it off, changing minds, and more organising until basically you are drove mental! haha.
However on this particular occasion for me this marks the end of working with Amy & Allan, a couple who are a designers dream, and I loved working with on their wedding stationery. I dont really produce normal or run of the mill wedding stationery so when they contacted me with their ideas we were both on the same page. They wanted something different right from the start. For their wedding invitations I designed them a very font heavy and stylish vintage style poster wedding invitation. This still is one of my favourite wedding invitations I have worked on to date… click here to view the wedding invitation… After this they contacted me to design their wedding table plan, and again they wanted something different and we ended up with a music festival style poster for the table plan… click here to view the table plan… Finally they got in touch with me to design and create their wedding thank you cards, again looking for something different Amy suggest the idea of an Instagram style print, from here I suggested the idea of a polaroid style print with a wedding photo on the front and the back as a postcard so they could send out these out as thank you cards… after a bit of fine tuning we arrived at the following… a polaroid photo style wedding thank you card … and I know I always say this but its my favourite yet!! I printed these with a gloss finish on the front to give the real feel of a polaroid photo print… check them out below… if you fancy getting something similar done click here to get in touch…

Below is a quirky and unusual yet really cool wedding table plan I created for a couple who just got married. Like alot of the work I have been doing recently Kate & Alex wanted the table and seating plan to reflect their love of music festivals but wanted to do something with a twist which is how we ended up with the signpost which is directing to the stages etc, under each stage name (which are also the table names) is the names of each guest who is sitting at that table. It turned out very cool and looked really fantastic when printed. View more wedding table planshere…
This is a set of Gold, Black & White Evening Wedding Invitations I recently designed for a couple who were looking for something that had quite an elegant feel to the design…
This is the latest wedfest – festival themed wedding table plan I have designed. The festival themed posters for wedding table and seating plans are ever popular and being festival season there is no better time to be working on these fun music festival inspired table plans. Good luck to Jacqui & Derek for their forthcoming wedding…
For the past year I have provided many couples with penguin books inspired book cover wedding invitations so I thought it was time to freshen things up and move forward 20 or 30 years and look at the designs of book covers from the 60s, 70s and beyond and try and use some of those retro themes to create some new book cover inspired wedding invitations which moves away from the classic 3 band covers. This one below for Denise and Robert is a perfect example to represent how any wedding invitation can be made look like a retro themed or vintage book cover.
This is the latest festival themed wedding table plan I have designed for a couple who are about to get married and wanted their wedding seating plan to reflect their love of festivals and tie in with their festival themed wedding. This couple wanted to use their favourite albums covers as the table names and wanted the use of VW camper van in the poster to reflect how they will be arriving to the wedding.
This is a set of wedding thank you cards that I designed and printed for a couple called Elaine & Ashley who I previously designed wedding invitations and a wedding table plan for….
This is a festival themed wedding table plan and festival themed wedding table cards set I designed for festival fans Bride & Groom Bridgeen & Johnny from Strabane, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland….
These are wedding mass order of service booklets I designed and printed for a recent wedding of Bride & Groom Claire & Brian who are from Derry in Northern Ireland. I also designed their wedding invitations earlier in the year and kept the theme running through the design of the wedding mass booklets. If you require order of service booklets for your wedding or want to get in touch for other wedding stationary services please click here to get in touch with me.
This is a series of wedding invitations I designed which were based on book covers of old penguin books, some with a vintage feel to make them feel more old and worn. I have done these invitations in all sorts of colours and they look fantastic, nearly like a book in your hand…..
This is a set of wedding invitations I designed for a soon to be married couple from Derry, Northern Ireland called Clare & Brian. Clare wanted a pink and light grey theme for her wedding invites. These wedding invitations turned out really beautiful and the feedback from them has been great, the design although modern and classy has a slight vintage feel to it. For more samples of wedding invitations and wedding stationery please click here…
Lately I have been designing a lot of wedding table plans and wedding seating plans (both the same thing but people refer to them as one or the other). A popular theme for these wedding table plans is festival wedding table plans - to have them designed in a music festival style poster. I have done a few festival style wedding seating plans so far but this one is by far my favourite.
This couple got engaged a few months ago after featuring on Keith Lemon’s new TV progamme called Lemon-Aid. You can watch the video of the guys on Keith’s show by clicking here….
Claire contacted me asking for a a music festival themed wedding table plan based on a few of her favourite music festivals. The result can be seen below and really looks great, take note that special guest on the day will be Keith Lemon himself, what a great guest this would be to have at your wedding. If you are looking for a music festival themed wedding table / seating plan then please get in touch…
See Claire and Tim’s appearance on Keith Lemon’s Lemon-Aid below….
Keep Calm and Carry on Wedding Invites - These wedding invites for Sophie and Matthew are based on the old Keep Calm and Carry On posters which were produced by the british government during the second world war. This Keep Calm and Carry On poster design has a resurgence in the past few years and has been re-issued over a range of products such as war memorabilia, posters, tea towels, mugs, t-shirts and pretty much anything else you can think of, which brings us to wedding invitations.
Sophie and Matthew wanted to use the Keep Calm and Carry On theme in their wedding invitations and wedding stationary design but still have an antique and vintage feel about it. The wedding invite I designed shows the Keep Calm and Carry On theme on a red wooden background with cracked white paint showing the text which has been changed to Keep Calm its just a Wedding Invite, and on the reverse the wedding invite details are on some old torn and worn paper. These invites where printed A5 size to give a sense of a small sized Keep Calm and Carry On poster which could be kept and possibly later framed by the person that receives it.
If you are interested in Keep Calm and Carry on Wedding Invites or something similar please get in touch…
My friend’s Elaine and Ashley recently got married and I designed their wedding invitations and wedding stationery including their wedding order of service booklets and wedding table plan and seating chart. I have already posted about these in previous posts but here are a couple of amazing photos taken by wedding photographer Lauren Rutherford. Lauren’s photography work is amazing and these photos are only a small snippet of her talents in wedding photography. Check out her blog here… and thanks to Lauren for letting me use these photos.
Penguin Books Wedding Stationery – Penguin books wedding invitations are very popular and most couples like to stick with the traditional colour of orange for their penguin books wedding invites but every now and again a couple will request a different colour, usually to tie in with their wedding theme colour. This is the case for Brian & Georgy. For their Penguin Books Wedding Stationery they wanted to have an aqua blue theme in their penguin books wedding invitations and these turned out amazing. They also ordered RSVP cards and directions cards which I tied into the whole theme and this resulted in a really nice wedding stationery set which you can see in the photos below…
These beautiful wedding thank you cards are ones I designed for Bride & Groom Marcus & Marie whose wedding invitations I previously designed, you can see these by clicking here. As there wedding was a winter wedding I wanted to keep some of that feel in the thank you cards but not too mush as its now spring. I achieved this by keeping the colours red and white to tie in with christmas and also the colours of the venue where they held their wedding reception which was The Red Door in Fahan. The photos were taken by Derry photographer Donal Doherty and they really make this thank you card stand out. See more wedding thank you cardshere….
This is a festival themed wedding seating plan that I designed for a bride and groom who are getting married today I just realised!! So good luck to them and I hope their wedding day is the kind of festival that they hoped for.
When I was working on my wedding invitations last year I wanted to work a music festival theme into the invitations as we are festival fans, this was one of the festival style wedding invitations I ended up with. Unfortunately it didnt make the final cut but we had a festival themed wedding table plan instead. Below is the festival themed wedding invitation in the style of a festival poster wedding invitation.
This is one of my favourite wedding invitations that I have worked on. The bride to be Amy contacted me looking for a vintage poster style wedding invitation made up nearly completely from typefaces and calligraphy. She wanted to keep it completely black and white in order to tie in with her wedding theme colours. The results can be seen below and they turned out to be really cool wedding invitations.
I was recently contacted from a writer at Yahoo.com who wanted to include some of my wedding invitation designs on their Lifestyle blog in the wedding section. The invites can be viewed by clicking this link or see the pictures below.
So basically the brief for this wedding invitation design was…..
Bride: “We are from Glasgow, but live in Kuwait in the middle east! We would like some funky vintage postcard style wedding invitations. We want an image on the front of us riding camels through the desert with sand dunes in the background, we want it in the style of an old Kuwait postcard, with some great typefaces and a stamp of our names, wedding date and home city” …..
Me: “No problem!”
Result: See below…..
These were very fun wedding invites to work on. The bride & groom are based in Kuwait and are coming home to Glasgow to get married so they thought this would be a very fun theme to have for their wedding invitations. There was a lot of thought and detail that went into these invites, every font and colour was thought over again and again and everything down to the font used on the envelopes (which themselves were recycled) was thought long and hard about. The result was worth all the hard work to create these unique wedding invitations. There is a real middle eastern feel to them, the stamps are really old school and one is an old Kuwait postage stamp.
The image of the bride and groom themselves wasn’t just a simple photo of them on camels either (which would have been really handy). I was given 2 head shots and the image of the 2 of them riding camels through the desert is the result of a lot of photo shopping made up from about 8 individual photos. It was worth the effort and finished the invitation in great style.
The wedding RSVP card also got the full treatment with their own vintage style military stamp designed to stamp theirs name, date and location of the wedding. This was a great wedding invitation design to work and the couple Tron & Audrey were a pleasure to work with, it makes it especially fun when the bride and groom want something different, unusual, unique or just downright bizarre for their wedding invitations. More of this brides and grooms…..
These are the wedding invitations I designed and created for soon to be married couple Elaine & Ashley. Elaine and Ashley wanted a Purple and Ivory theme for their Wedding Invites. These came out really nice and the matching RSVP postcards and Evening Invitations completed the set.
Still proving very popular is the Penguin Books themed Wedding Invitations I have been doing for couples recently. This latest one takes on the title ‘A Country Wedding’ which becomes the title of the book cover / wedding invitation and reflects the bride and grooms garden and outdoors wedding day. The great thing about these book cover wedding invitations is they can lend themselves to nearly any wedding theme, or represent any special bond between a bride and groom by simply applying the theme to the books title. These are the perfect wedding invitations for any book lovers out there.
Funky Wedding Invitations – This latest wedding invitation that I have designed is possibly my favourite yet of all the wedding invites that I have worked on. The bride to be contacted me asking for something cool, retro and funky with a touch of vintage, basically she wanted Funky Wedding Invitations. Her colours were turquoise and silver and the rest was up to me. I had recently started using a series of funky fonts Rosewood, Cast Iron, Circus and Romantiques and taking random letters out of each to create the words I wanted to spell out and this has worked no better than in the words wedding invitation as seen below. I repeated this throughout the wedding stationery in the evening invitations, RSVPs cards and guest information and directions cards. I used some swirly designs in the background and put nice semi-circle lined trim around the invites. To finish them off I put a grungy speckled effect slightly over the invites to give them a slight vintage feel. Im really pleased with how these retro funky wedding invitations have turned out.
Last June a Lady contacted me saying she was a book lover and could I design her wedding invitations based on the concept of Penguin Book Covers. Little did I know that 8 months later she would only be the first of many and that there is so many book lovers out there who want to incorporate the idea of classic penguin books into their wedding invitations, wedding stationary and wedding days. In the past few months I have designed quite a lot of penguin books wedding invitations for bride and grooms and I can see the appeal. The latest one I have worked on here is for a Bride & Groom in England. They wanted an invitation that could be opened unlike the postcard style which I have done up until now. I was quite pleased to hear this as I think it further adds to the bookish feel of the invitation. The inside details of the wedding invitation I designed up like the first few pages you would see when you open a paper back book (I even had a paper back book effect in the background) and on the inner left side there is also a quote from Homer (not Homer Simpson!) who had many books published by penguin books. The invitations turned out fantastic as you can see in the photos below…
This poster style wedding invitation design is one I designed for a couple who wanted something unique and different for their wedding invitations instead of the usual run of the mill style wedding invites. Because of their Names Lucy & Tim I was able to make a feature of the letters U & I which was a nice touch for the wedding invitation.
